Dawnerz recovery tow straps are suitable for a wide range of vehicles and equipment, from commercial vehicles and large trucks to tractors, loaders and heavy equipment.

Our current tow strap range covers applications for vehicles and equipment with GVWs from approximately 33,000 lb to 126,000 lb, depending on the strap selected.

Dawnerz tow straps are available in 20 ft and 30 ft lengths.

For situations requiring additional distance, compatible straps can be connected using a properly rated connection method, such as a Dawnerz synthetic recovery shackle.

A 20 ft + 30 ft combination provides 50 ft of total length, while two 30 ft straps provide 60 ft. This can be useful when ground conditions prevent the recovery vehicle from getting close enough to the vehicle or equipment being recovered.

We prefer polyester for its combination of strength, durability and controlled stretch characteristics.

Polyester has relatively low stretch compared with materials such as nylon, which allows for a more controlled pull during recovery. It also retains its strength well when wet and offers good resistance to UV exposure, oils and grease.

These characteristics make polyester well suited to demanding recovery environments, including commercial, agricultural and heavy-equipment applications.

The connection points and webbing edges are among the areas that require the most attention during use.

The eyes are subjected to concentrated loads and remain in contact with the anchor points during a recovery. Sharp, damaged or unsuitable attachment points can cause localized damage to the eye.

The edges of flat webbing are also particularly vulnerable to cuts and abrasion, especially when the strap contacts rough or abrasive surfaces.

To help prevent damage, avoid dragging the strap unnecessarily across the ground, inspect the recovery area before use, and ensure the anchor points and surrounding surfaces are suitable for the strap.

There is no fixed service life for a tow strap.

How long a strap lasts depends on several factors, including how frequently it is used, the loads it experiences, how it is attached, the surfaces it contacts, the environment in which it is used, and how it is stored and inspected.

A strap used occasionally in controlled conditions may last considerably longer than one used frequently in abrasive commercial or agricultural environments.

Regular inspection is essential. A tow strap should be removed from service if it shows damage or deterioration that makes it unsuitable for continued use.

Yes, two compatible tow straps can be connected when additional length is required.

However, do not simply feed one strap through the eye of another. This can create excessive friction, concentrated loading and difficulty separating the straps after a recovery.

Use a properly rated connection method, such as a suitable synthetic recovery shackle, and ensure the connection method and both straps are appropriately rated for the recovery.
