When heavy equipment breaks down or gets stuck, standard towing gear won’t cut it. Dawnerz recovery tow straps are purpose-built for serious extractions — manufactured to handle extreme loads, poor terrain, and unbalanced pulls. Our heavy-duty towing straps are trusted by operators across mining, agriculture, and heavy transport, where recovery failures aren’t an option. Whether you're recovering a disabled semi, 8WD tractor, or off-road construction unit, our recovery straps are built for heavy-duty equipment recovery — with high-capacity webbing, reinforced eyes, and Break Strengths up to 380,000 lbs.
What Are Recovery Tow Straps?
Recovery tow straps are high-strength, durable straps specifically designed for vehicle recovery in challenging conditions. They are typically used to pull immobilized or stuck vehicles out of mud, snow, ditches, or other difficult terrain. They are designed to handle high-resistance pulls and offer superior strength to ensure safe, effective recovery operations. They are ideal for recovery and towing in situations where a vehicle is stationary or in need of extraction. These straps are not suitable for dynamic recovery which requires different equipment.

How To Choose the Right Load Rating
When selecting a recovery tow strap, always account for the total weight of the vehicle or equipment being recovered, including any resistance from terrain or load conditions. Choose a recovery strap with a Working Load Limit (WLL) that meets or exceeds your operational safety requirements. Where applicable, follow guidelines outlined in OSHA standards and ASME B30.9. Dawnerz recovery tow straps are available in MBS ratings from 70,000 lbs to 380,000 lbs — built to meet the demands of heavy industry, from agriculture and construction to mining.
Load Rating Table
MBS Rating | 2:1 WLL | 3:1 WLL | 5:1 WLL | Recommended Vehicle Type |
---|---|---|---|---|
70,000 lb recovery tow strap | 35,000 lbs | 23,333 lbs | 14,000 lbs | Pickup-based utility rigs, skid steers, UTVs |
85,000 lb recovery tow strap | 42,500 lbs | 28,333 lbs | 17,000 lbs | Light tractors, unladen dump trucks |
100,000 lb recovery tow strap | 50,000 lbs | 33,333 lbs | 20,000 lbs | Tractors up to 200 HP, smaller construction equipment |
140,000 lb recovery tow strap | 70,000 lbs | 46,667 lbs | 28,000 lbs | Fully loaded semis, combines, dozers up to D6 class |
200,000 lb recovery tow strap | 100,000 lbs | 66,667 lbs | 40,000 lbs | Articulated tractors, harvesters, wheeled loaders |
260,000 lb recovery tow strap | 130,000 lbs | 86,667 lbs | 52,000 lbs | D8 and up dozers, track equipment, quarry vehicles |
380,000 lb recovery tow strap | 190,000 lbs | 126,667 lbs | 76,000 lbs | Oversized mining equipment, 8WD tractors, haul trucks |
Note: Always select straps with a WLL appropriate to the load and recovery conditions. A 3:1 safety factor is typically used for standard recovery operations, offering a reliable balance between strength and safety. In high-risk or extreme recovery situations, a 5:1 factor provides additional margin. A 2:1 factor may be used in low-risk, controlled environments but is generally not advisable for high-stress recovery tasks.
Polyester Heavy Duty Recovery Straps
At Dawnerz, we only use polyester for our recovery straps due to its unmatched strength, durability, and low stretch properties. Polyester is the ideal material for controlled recovery operations. Unlike other materials, polyester doesn't stretch excessively, which ensures steady, controlled pulls during recovery. It also offers excellent UV stability, meaning our straps retain their strength even after prolonged exposure to sunlight. Polyester is resistant to moisture, which makes it ideal for recovery in a wide range of environmental conditions, including wet or muddy terrain. Our recovery straps are designed for maximum performance in demanding recovery situations, ensuring safety and reliability.
