Tow Strap WARNING:

Improper use of tow straps can result in equipment failure, serious injury, or death.

Key Safety Rules

  • Inspect before every use

  • Do not use if damaged (cuts, fraying, broken stitching, or deformation)

  • Never exceed rated capacity (MBS/WLL)

  • Use only approved vehicle recovery points

  • Keep people clear of the line of pull

  • Do not use for lifting or overhead loads

Inspection Requirements

Remove from service immediately if any of the following are found:

  • Cuts, tears, or fraying in webbing

  • Damaged or missing stitching

  • Heat, chemical, or UV damage

  • Stiff, brittle, or softened sections

  • Damaged or missing identification tag

  • Embedded debris or foreign material

  • Knots or unauthorized modifications

Use Warning

Tow straps are designed for controlled vehicle recovery.

Unexpected load spikes can occur due to:

  • Vehicle resistance (mud, sand, slope)

  • Sudden movement or slack take-up

  • Load shift during recovery

Protection

  • Protect from sharp edges and abrasive surfaces

  • Use edge protection where contact occurs

  • Avoid dragging on ground or over rough surfaces

Storage

  • Store dry and clean

  • Keep away from sunlight, chemicals, and heat

  • Do not store under tension
